Beaded Custom Bridal Corset - Wilde Hunt Corsetry

A Bridal Corset Complete

Last night I completed a very elaborate bridal corset, which was commissioned by a bride in New Mexico. I hand beaded all of the iris flowers in the French manner. This old world method is a painstaking process by which tiny seed beads are hand sewn into the desired pattern.

Famous establishments such as the House of Lesage, France’s oldest embroiderer,  have long created the beadwork for the world’s finest couture houses in this same way. Vionnet, Chanel, Schiaparelli, Dior, and Lanvin have all produced garments with this kind of embroidery.

In this custom bridal corset, I used four unique colors of glass seed beads to create the illusion of shading and depth on the irises. Large pear-shaped Swarovski crystals create dramatic focal points and smaller sequin-shaped crystals contribute an animated shimmer when the corset moves. I hope to create a short video to better illustrate this effect. The body of the corset is created out of a gorgeous pearlized platinum leather. And the bride and groom’s initials are also embroidered, one name on each hip.
I wish my client and her fiance a wonderful wedding day in November and a very happy future together!
Corset commission inquiries may be sent to me via email.  For elaborate bridal commissions such as this one, it is ideal to contact me one year or more in advance, in order to secure your position in my work cue.

Oh my goodness this is simply beautiful! How long did it take you to hand stitch all of that? I imagine it took ages. The pearlized platinum leather is stunning and a really individual choice for bridal wear. I got my first corset and now I'm hooked - even dedicating a whole week to corsets on my blog next week http://www.lingerie-stylist.com/
