Café au Lait Corset

I recently completed this custom corset for my client, Gina, in Texas. Gina is attending a Civil War reenacting event where she will will this corset as part of a period costume ensemble. Her corset was inspired by an extant piece in the Victoria and Albert Museum. The first version I created in this style was commissioned by the PBS TV Civil War drama Mercy Street PBS for actress Tara Summers. This version is made of silk, trimmed with cotton lace, and features a large quantity of hand embroidery with silk thread. Notice the couture detail of the silk embroidered eyelet for the busk loops.
