Recipient of an Arts Grant

Remember my Semper Eadem embroidered corset that we photographed at Jones Mansion with Ironwood Wolves? Well, the Greater Columbus Arts Council just awarded me with a grant for the further study of the subject of English Goldwork!

I’m really excited to delve deeper into this rich, historic style of embroidery! The oldest extant example of goldwork embroidery is found on a set of religious garments dating to the 10th century, and which are now displayed in Durham Cathedral. Isn’t it inspiring that embroidery is so enduring? I look forward to sharing with you the results of my study on this subject! Stay tuned!
