The Anatomist Corset
I’m really fascinated by the sculptural, structural beauty of skeletons. So much that I have a small collection of unusual bones in my library, like a proper Victorian “Cabinet of Curiosities”. We sometimes make a game of seeing if guests can identify which species produced the huge vertebrae on my mantle (which are nearly as big as my hand).
This skeletal interest spurred my wish to create a skull corset based on the exquisite anatomical illustrations of Da Vinci and Albinus for quite some time, and recently I finally got the chance to make such a piece. The Anatomist Corset is made of platinum pearlized leather and black patent leather trim. I think you will be intrigued when you hear who will wear it and where….more to follow.
