I’m really fascinated by the sculptural, structural beauty of skeletons. So much that I have a small collection of unusual bones in my library, like a proper Victorian “Cabinet of Curiosities”. We sometimes make a game of seeing if guests can identify which species produced the huge vertebrae on my mantle (which are nearly as big as my hand).

Why Is a Raven Like a Writing Desk?

I recently completed this corset based upon the much loved illustrations by John Tenniel of Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland. Creating this corset for my client was like visiting beloved childhood friends. I went back and re-read some of the material from the book and I had forgotten that the story holds a lot of truths about life which are just as poignant and useful for adults as they are for children, perhaps even more so. The reason I started this blog was to show you my journey as I develop as an artist, so without further ado – here is what I have created  and here is what I have learned.
